The axe is very probably one of the oldest tools developed by humans. It has been a symbol of work and battle since the Neolithic period. Norsemen always used it to represent bravery and power. For Vikings it was of course a powerful weapon and a great tool but it also offered protection form evil. Ultimately it remains to this day a symbol of power in many cultures and thus by extension also often fertility. The two-headed axe was the ultimate symbol of Minoan priestesses and Amazon warriors. It is also called labrys or labris and remains today as a strong symbol of female empowerment. As a memory of pre-patriarchal societies it has also been used in the last two decades on the Labrys lesbian flag as a strong LGBT symbol. Hand-made Sterling 925 Silver pendant. Sterling Silver is also very easy to clean so you can always maintain your silver jewellery nice and shiny. The Silver Elves are always happy to answer any questions you may have regarding product care.

Though it may seem surprsing, one of the best ways to keep your silver from tarnishing is to wear your jewellery regularly. You can also use a gentle mixture of soap and water to clean your earrings and pendants.

If they become heavily tarnished after long periods without use, you can use a combination of white vinegar and baking soda.

To avoid tarnishing, keep your silver jewelry in air-tight containers or small zip-lock bags to protect them from moisture.
